Steps and traps
How it works here
- The program requires an IBHS FORTIFIED Home - Roof - High Wind designation with the Hail Supplement.
- It applies to owner-occupied, primary-residence, single-family homes, new or existing.
- Applications are judged while funds last and when the home can be mitigated.
- The money is sent to the contractor once the paperwork and the IBHS certificate are filed.
Watch for
- Anything above the award is the homeowner's cost, and the evaluation fee is not covered.
- The one-sheet says discounts depend on the carrier, change over time and may vary by location.
