It stayed on the ground for 7.42 miles and was up to 200 yards wide. A tornado touched down about three miles northwest of Hermosa and tracked northeastward for about 12 minutes, dissipating about six miles northeast of Hermosa. Numerous pine trees were snapped along Murphy Road where the tornado initially formed.
